My Travel Backpack

5063372-MAY00.jpg

This backpack is very similar to the one that I use. I bought my backpack quite a few years ago so the actual brand (MEC) and model are no longer available. I highly recommend using a backpacking pack if you are planning to carry your bag onto the plane.

This bag is large enough to fit everything you need and it will comfortably fit in the overhead compartments. Look for a backpack between 45L - 55L, any larger and you risk the airline forcing you to check your bag last minute. I have seen other's with far larger bags than mine so likely you would only have an issue if the flight is full.

A backpacking pack will offer support for your back which is why it is a popular choice for travelers. They are also weighted nicely making them easy to carry around.

Also, you don't have to spend a fortune however, I do recommend that you research the bag you have selected. I spent approximately 150$ on mine and it has lasted for 6 years and has been with me to 13 different countries. I should also mention that mine doubles as my hiking day bag so it has seen lots of use.

I bought mine from MEC (Canada).

If you are in the states, then I recommend you check out REI Co-Op.
